Jade Blackwater is a writer and artist from the Pacific Northwest. She writes copy by day as the owner of the Brainripples creative consultancy. By night, Jade is a prolific poet and fiction writer who encourages others to pursue their own, unique voice.
Bio:
Jade Leone Blackwater grew up among the evergreens of Seattle, Washington and enjoys a life-long love affair with all things green and growing. Jade earned her Bachelor of Arts from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where she studied forest ecology under Dr. Nalini Nadkarni, and later supported the production of Nadkarni’s book, Between Earth and Sky: Our Intimate Connections to Trees (University of California Press, 2008).
Brainripples (www.brainripples.com) is Jade Blackwater’s creative consultancy, specializing in powerful writing services for businesses and individuals. She is recognized for her ability to rapidly gather, organize, and prepare information for publication. Her copy appears in articles, newsletters, brochures, magazine ads, marketing materials, web content, and other media.
Jade’s poetry appears in The Monongahela Review. She is a Co-Manager for The Festival of the Trees blog carnival, and blogs independently on ecology and conservation, art and creativity, and sustainability and gardening. Jade is a member of Willamette Writers and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association, and she serves on the Board at Pennwriters, Inc. When Jade isn’t writing she can usually be found getting dirty in the garden or hiking the local forests.
